SYNOPSIS: To some, the American Dream is a two story house, white picket fence, dog in the yard, and a beautiful wife and children with the best possible education. Sounds like the perfect dream… so it is for Carlos' parents who have immigrated to the U.S. from Mexico. They only want the best for the family; they are hopelessly optimistic about their lives and try every step to Americanize the family further. Carlos' education is important but his math grade are not what they should be and after overhearing his concerned parents talking, Carlos takes measures into his own hands. He decides to convert to Judaism so he can get the best math teacher in town, teaching at Solomon Kushner high school. Though, his decision comes with more than renouncing to the beloved chorizo tacos.
JEW-TINO is a comedy about the identity crisis of a thirteen year old Latino boy and the troubles he encounters when he must convert to Judaism. It is only then, when he realizes his own Latino roots.
Who wouldn't want to speak Spanish, eat spicy food, and have a piñata on his birthday?
